T&F was selected by Discovery Communications to brand another one of its networks, Planet Green, the only 24-hour eco-lifestyle television network. Similar to the Science Channel branding done in the previous year, we looked at parts coming together to make the whole. In this instance, we used Planet Green’s logo, a green circle, and an amorphous line (symbolically representing Planet Green and its audience). This circle and line work together to show the progression of technology from its roots, to its most energy inefficient stages, to the beginning of green technologies, and finishes with a look to the future, highlighting the network’s “What Next” theme. We also took the opportunity to infuse the line and circle with a fun, hip and innovative look that has become a trademark of T&F.
